My name is Ashley, and welcome to my website! I have been dreaming of and pursuing photography as a business for a few years THUS became Ashland Creative.
I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Broadcast Communications,and a minor in religion. I used to work in production full-time as a live stream director and production manager, I still love to work freelance jobs with live events as a Camera Operator. (FUN FACT: I got to travel to the Bahamas this past year 2x with Disney on one of their new cruises, and I also worked music Festival with Green Day and The Lumineers in 2022)
How did I get here?
... Well.... I started out taking photos of local bands when I was in high school, and when I left college and moved home I went right back to it. I worked full time and attended shows on the weekends to take photos, and that's how it started... MUSIC!
There's something about music that brings my creative side out and ever since I can remember, I have tried to continue with this passion of mine with being apart of music and live events. Capturing the moment and the emotion of what is going on around me.
Over the years I have upgraded camera's and have had friends and family push me to continue to pursue my passion, even when I felt I wasn't going to make it.
I was gifted digital camera's when I was in high school, and I wasn't thinking about it at the time that I would pursue my own business or photography, I at least was interested in music and using a camera. ( and of course, YouTube videos). I always thought I would somehow work at Seaworld, I wanted to be a Marine Biologist and to work with marine life...especially whales and dolphins. But my grades in science, and joining TV Production in school are what changed my view. My dreams of working with marine life changed, however I still think about it and have even volunteered at local rescues when I can.
When I graduated High school and went to college I started working with TV production. I still had no idea where I would go or what I would do after graduation. I told God to lead me, and I would follow.
After a few rough years out of college, still feeling as though I wasn't sure of what I was doing, or where I was really going, I had to focus on health issues. It took time, I wanted to pick up my camera again. And I did from time to time. this is when I got involved with local shows, and taking photos of my friends. I even WON a NEW camera! ( My production team and Went to InfoComm in Orlando, FL, I passed by the Canon booth, signed up...manifested that I WAS GOING TO WIN and the next thing I knew..an hour later.. my name was heard over a microphone and a sea of people opened up for me to go and get my NEW camera I had just WON!). It was moments like these that made me feel as though what I was doing wasn't for "nothing" and that something was coming that I would eventually need my camera for. I needed to pursue it. Even if I didn't do it often.
Fast Forward from 2016 to 2022, and here we are! after a couple of job changes, on going health battles, and FINALLY feeling good again!...I'm here and I present to you..

Now 2023 and time has flown by! This is my space where you can hire me to photograph special moments for yourself, you and your partner, or maybe even your family. I want all of my work and all that I offer to be in one place, my space .. and to be apart of your special moments.
